The Youth Worker Bursary Fund, launched in 2020, created opportunities to open up career pathways in youth work.  The fund widened access and secured youth work training for up to 450 youth workers to undertake the Level 2 and 3 training.  The training is run through the NYA Academy, and is delivering in partnership with Regional Youth Work Units Youth Focus NE, Youth Focus NW, Yorkshire & Humberside RYWU, Youth Focus WM, Youth Focus SW, Partnership for Young London, SYPER and a network of training organisations across England

NYA is delivering the Routes to Success programme, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, offering 20 small-to-medium sized organisations the opportunity to work with our youth work specialists to develop and enhance their organisations at a strategic and operational level.  We are also producing a free webinar series to help youth workers and those working with young people to develop their skills, practice and knowledge.

NYA developed a comprehensive National Youth Work Curriculum, the first in over ten years to enable a greater understanding of youth work practice, provide an educational framework and act as a reference tool for decision makers, policy makers, commissioners, youth workers and young people.

These projects will continue to run in 2021, with additional resources, information and a ten year strategy being included in 2021.  We remain invested in the development of the youth work workforce.
