The National Youth Agency (NYA) is delighted to announce that the Level 3 Youth Support Worker Apprenticeship has been approved and will be launching shortly.
Full information, including how to enrol will be available on the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education website (www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/).
NYA led the Trailblazer group, chaired by Carol Stone, who worked with training providers, youth workers, local authorities and the voluntary sector to write and develop this new Level 3 Youth Support Worker Apprenticeship standard. This new qualification will continue building the infrastructure of the Youth Work workforce, enabling organisations to develop their workforce, alongside creating much needed opportunities for young people to be involved in youth work. The development of the new standard was supported by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
Abbee McLatchie, Director of Youth Work at NYA commented, “We are delighted that the new Level 3 Youth Support Worker Apprenticeship is being launched. We would like to express our thanks to everyone involved in writing and developing the new standard. Providing Youth Workers and organisations with access to this new qualification will continue to improve and build the youth workforce, which will have a direct and positive impact on the lives of young people.”
