Young Researcher Network

Mission Statement: This network will value, support and encourage research led by young people. It will empower young people and raise their voice and influence on matters that affect their lives.

The YRN is a network of 16 partner organisations including the NYA that will support and encourage young people’s active participation in youth led research to facilitate their voice influencing policy and practice.

Research Reports are in!

The first of the YRN’s research reports are available to download now! These are the culmination of a great amount of work over the year. Young researchers have been leading research in a number of areas including, volunteering, disability, looked after young people, alcohol use, media, hate crime and restorative justice, health, the local youth offer and identity.

The YRN is a National Youth Agency funded project that will run till March 2009 and hopes to enable groups of young people from each of the organisations to complete a piece of research. In this way the network aims to directly support and encourage young people's active involvement in producing high quality research.

• Opportunities to explore using research as a tool for change. The YRN hosted a Question Time Event and the Research 4 Change Event to help young researchers to begin making those policy links.
