Creative Communities Unit at Staffordshire University Workshop

To celebrate National Youth Work this year, the Creative Communities Unit at Staffordshire University are delivering a series of four workshops across the West Midlands.
The workshops are open to anyone involved in youth work and are primarily aimed at celebrating the role of youth work in bringing communities together. We are working with some broadcast journalism students at the university to capture positive, good news stories to develop a video resource that we will share with participants and our partners to help share (and shout about!) our positive youth work stories.

Pro-Action Hoddesdon Boxing Club 6.30-8.30pm
Hoddesdon Boxing Academy (Broxbourne) has entered the Clubs for Young Peoples Boxing competition representing Hertfordshire many times. Young people aged 10 years + attend.
Pro-Action St Marys Youth Club 6.30-7.30pm
St Mary’s Youth Club (Broxbourne) is a faith based group which is attended by young people aged 10-16 years. The clubs runs various activities including games, music and discussions.
West Bromwich
The Central Library in West Bromwich, Sandwell will be hosting a 'Pizza Party' for young people in partnership with the West Bromwich Youth Council.
Young people are welcome from 7.00pm till 9.30pm on Monday 31st October 2011.
This is a FREE event and Halloween fancy dress is optional
All young people between 11 and 20 are welcome.

In bidding for the 2012 Games, London 2012 made a commitment to deliver a project to support 100 young leaders on an intensive personal development programme which is sponsored by BP.
As Young Leaders from the Wandsworth hub, my friends and I have been developing and delivering a range of volunteering opportunities in our local community. Our next project will be held at the George Shearing Centre.
We will be holding a two hour workshop (from 3pm to 5pm) with a range of activities including: arts and craft, penalty shootout, smoothie making and dance. Each child will also be presented with an award for their participation. We would like to invite you to witness the awards ceremony which will commence promptly at 5.30pm.
We hope you ensure that your child/ward is able to attend this session and look forward to seeing you at the awards ceremony.

St Hugh & St John Youth Group (Stevenage) is attend by young people aged 8-19 years olds. It is a faith based group which encourages social activities as well as sports and arts.

St Johns Youth Club (Hatfield) is a well-established youth group with over 130 young people aged between 8-14 years as members - a regular night includes a disco, dancing & face painting.

Job Club – Are you aged 16-18 and need help finding a job? Come to job club! We can help you with application forms and online applications, prepare you for interviews, help you to write you’re C.V, and even gain a NCFE qualification. Plus the chance to talk to local employers about what they look for in an employee
Dare to go on the climbing wall? Get hooked, come and join in on various fun activities from 3.00pm – 4.30pm.
Apprenticeship/ Training Opportunities – Come and visit stands from several local providers including: Action 4 Employment, Grimsby Institute, Barnardos, Lincs Training, Community Learning Services, In Training, Job Centre Plus, McArthur Dean Training

Pro-Action North Mymms Youth Club 6.30-7.30pm
North Mymms Youth Club (Hatfield) is just over a year old, with 2 sessions held every Friday night 8-12 years 13-16years, with an average of 130 young people attending. The youth club have booked in a Rodeo for this night.
