How much Income Tax do you pay?

How much you will have to pay in Income Tax depends largely on which tax allowances you are entitled to and your income.

Most people who normally live in the UK have an annual tax allowance which means a certain amount of your income is not taxed. This is known as your personal tax allowance. You only pay tax on what you earn over your allowance in the tax year.
