Summary

Youth Federation was originally formed in 1952 as Cheshire Association of Boys Clubs. Following a number of boundary changes and evolutions, it was renamed Youth Federation in 2000. Youth Federation is a regional Youth Association affiliated to UK Youth and is a registered Charity No 506539.

The Youth Federation works across Cheshire, Halton, Warrington and Wirral and has a history of over 50 years of delivering quality youth work and support. We promote independence with individuals and groups and want more people to know what we are doing, and what is available.

Our Mission

To develop a Youth Organisation that retains its commitment, both to young people and to the organisations that we are set up to serve.

“To support and deliver quality youth work through informal education, working in partnership with children, young people, voluntary youth organisations and other agencies.”

What do we do?

  • Youth Projects – children’s and young people led projects within the most disadvantaged communities in our region, focusing on issues such as mental health, loneliness, bullying, social activity, crime and drugs, involving sport, arts, drama, video, music etc.
  • Developing volunteers – recruiting training and supporting volunteers and mentors, including accredited training in a wide variety of areas.
  • Large activities and annual events.
  • Capacity Building – operating in the most disadvantaged areas, offering practical support and training to enable groups to achieve quality standards.
  • Organisational support to its 150 affiliated youth groups – telephone advice, bursaries, insurance schemes, youth work handbooks.
