The NYA Quality Mark
The relaunched NYA Quality Mark will lead to better services for young people.
The framework has been re-written to take account of its wider applicability to Integrated Youth Support Services. This new framework is more reflective of the needs of all young peoples organisations across all the sectors whilst maintaining consistency in the high standards expected of those submitting for The NYA’s National Award.
There are eleven standards which form the operating standards or components to a quality organisation:
- performance management;
- management information;
- quality assurance;
- equality and diversity;
- curriculum/programme of activities;
- legal requirements;
- personal and social development;
- involving young people;
- workforce development;
- partnerships and
- resources.
The NYA Quality Mark has been designed as a management tool to support an organisation’s development and improvement of its quality management systems. It tests the processes and structures, which are the building blocks of an organisation. By using the self-assessment framework, organisations will be able to check monitoring and reviewing procedures and how management information is used to improve the quality, impact and outcomes of an organisation.
Organisations who achieve an established score in their self-assessment framework may wish to apply for the National Award so their achievements can be recognised. There is a cost to organisations to go through the National Award assessment process. Guidelines to assist organisations are available. Once achieved the National Award is valid for three years.
Find out more about The NYA Quality Mark self-assessment framework. Hard copies with CD-Rom can be purchased at a cost of £15 each.
