National Youth Agency Participation Strategy Review 2010

Final report of the Participation Strategy Review and a response from the National Youth Agency to its recommendations

Earlier this year, the NYA Participation Strategy Review Group met to consider the current and future directions of the NYA’s work in young people’s participation. Discussions and a range of other exchanges were held with a partners’ review group, with NYA staff and with young people and participation workers involved in this critical work in the field.

All of this work has been distilled and reviewed and has been used by the NYA (and NYA Associate Maxine Green) to produce the final report entitled The Participation Strategy Review Group Report - April 2010; we have also attached separately a summary of the Review Group recommendations – Revised Key Findings - which can be read in conjunction with the full report.

This body of work has provided, and will continue to provide, the main basis for policy and practice decisions to support NYA’s continuing involvement in participation through 2010-11 and will be used to inform and guide longer term work. If you have any further comments arisen from this exercise, these can be emailed to Richard McKie, National Programme Manager on 07739 953520.
