Summary
Y Care International is the international development agency of the YMCA in the UK and Ireland. It works with YMCAs across the world to help young people face the big issues in their lives, such as poverty, homelessness, unemployment, HIV and AIDS, Gangs and youth justice issues. In the UK and Ireland, Y Care International is one of the biggest providers of global youth work, which uses informal education to help young people explore the global perspectives of the local issues that impact on their lives. We work with YMCAs to support young people to explore how these issues affect both their lives and the lives of young people throughout the world which supports their personal development, builds their skills and raises their awareness.
Y-Care is currently looking to increase its work with young people in the UK, and has made use of Hear By Right in guiding the early stages of that process.

Hear by Right is based around the Mapping and Planning tool. This website provides a space for organisations to share their maps and plans using the tool, both in order to share details of what they are doing locally, and to promote learning between organisations.
