Pocket money 'cut for young people'

The average weekly amount fell from £6.24 a week in 2009 to £5.89 a week this year. However, despite the decrease, the poll also found that young people are still making efforts to save. On average, they saved about 37 per cent - or £2.15 a week - of their pocket money.
