Young people at risk as sexually transmitted infections reach record levels

Two thirds of the STI cases were in young women aged 15-24. The figures also show that 10 per cent of the 15 to 24-year-olds treated for a sexually transmitted infection will be re-infected within a year. This has raised concern about the need for more and better sex education for young people.
