Parents 'more worried about murder than obesity' threat

The survey is being published as part of a campaign to get more children walking to school. Latest figures show walk-to-school rates have fallen to a new low of 48 per cent. The poll also suggested many parents underestimate how much exercise their children need. According to the research, 68 per cent of boys and 76 per cent of girls are not meeting the government's recommendation of at least seven hours of physical activity a week.
