One in four young people 'not using contraception'

The worldwide poll carried out for World Contraception Day on 26 September, found 16 per cent of young people who admitted to having unprotected sex said they had forgotten to use contraception with a new partner, 13 per cent said their partner preferred not to use it and 19 per cent said they failed to take precautions because they were drunk. The survey has promopted health campaigners to call on the government to give higher priority to sex and relationships education.
