Commissioning Guidance Supports Elected Member and Young People’s Involvement
16 April 2012
The National Youth Agency has completed its series of Commissioning Toolkits with the launch of two new guidance documents.
The new guides, which have been developed as part of the NYA’s Routes to Success programme of work with the Local Government Association, aim to effectively support local authorities in engaging elected members and young people in the commissioning process. The two documents – Guidance for Elected Members and Involving Young People in Commissioning – are the final sections of the ten part guidance that was launched earlier this year.
NYA chief executive Fiona Blacke said: “These two publications complete what we believe is now a firstrate resource for the field. However we also recognise that it remains work in progress, and we will be looking to update the online versions of all ten documents and make them even more comprehensive as more examples of good practice in commissioning services for young people emerge.”
