Working with the YRN
The Young Researcher Network (YRN) provides specialist support in all aspects of peer led and participatory research. The YRN provides innovative services in consultancy and training to organisations wishing to establish or embed young researchers within their own organisations. We work with organisations in local and central government, health and social care, education, the media, the voluntary and private sectors.
What services does the YRN offer?

The YRN Products and Services
- Capacity Building
- Consultancy
- Training in research and evaluation skills
- Editing young people friendly reports
- Youth-led research, evaluation and consultation
- Peers researchers
A lot of research is done on young people but not by them. It is important for young people to be involved in setting the research agenda and doing research themselves. This results in high quality research that is relevant to the lives of young people.
Our mission is to value, support and encourage research led by young people and avoid tokenism. We empower young people and raise their voice and influence on matters that affect their lives. We do this by providing young people with research training and also opportunities to carry out research projects as a tool for change.
