Why do we need the YRN?
A lot of research is done on young people but not by them. Youth led research produces research highly relevant to the lives of young people, such research findings should be used where appropriate to help shape policy and practice.
NYA YRN ChYPS Launch 25 June 2009
A team of young researchers from the YRN recorded and reported on the launch of the newly configured Confederation of Heads of Young People’s Services (CHYPS), previously called the Association of Principal Youth and Community Officers (APYCO). Held at The Houses of Parliament and hosted by Tim Loughton MP the event encouraged delegates to reflect on Aiming High ‘two years on’: with specific reference to new approaches in services for young people.
How can the YRN help?
The YRN empowers young people to raise their voice and influence on matters that affect their lives, by providing young people with research training and opportunities to carry out research projects as a tool for change.
