Development Officers – NYA Consultancy Service

x 2 (fixed term until 31 March 2011) Salary NYA Scale K, Points 43-46 £34,146 - £36,635 (pay award pending)

Numerous factors, not least the need to improve standards and raise performance throughout the sector, are triggering major changes in how local authorities and voluntary organisations deliver services to young people. This presents them with pressing issues of organisational development and the need for new service delivery models – so we’re expanding our Consultancy Service to meet that demand and provide that support. Two new Development Officers will play leading roles in the development and delivery of the new Consultancy offering.

Building on your existing knowledge of the youth sector, you’ll help to design the products and services that meet the organisational development and service delivery needs of local authority and third sector clients. As well as your involvement in change projects, your role will also focus on identifying and selling consultancy opportunities to develop and grow the business and working on short-term funded projects. That’s why we’re looking for relationship building and service development skills along with the authority of a ‘national expert’ in this field. Though Leicester-based there will be a lot of travel and scope for home working.

At The NYA you can look forward to an excellent package including a final salary pension scheme, flexible working, 25 days’ annual leave, childcare voucher scheme and a contribution towards childcare support during school summer holidays.

Further details and the application process are available from The National Youth Agency via email at humanresource@nya.org.uk or by telephoning 0116 242 7400 (24 hour) or below:
