Research Manager

Salary NYA Scale L, Points 46-49 £37,543 - £40,101 (pay award pending)

The Policy, Information and Research team works across all areas of The NYA’s remit to analyse and develop a strong evidence base for our policy positions, gather intelligence and scan the landscape for young people’s services. We support internal and external audiences, including national and local government, the third sector and other stakeholders, ensuring our work incorporates the voices and thinking of young people. Your key role in all this will be to manage and develop research and evaluation programmes, including the Young Researcher Network. The broad brief will range from identifying priorities and scoping programmes to preparing briefing papers on research themes, securing funding and disseminating findings.

It’s an influential position calling for a Masters or PhD in a relevant social science discipline plus significant research experience, ideally related to themes of youth policy and practice. A gifted researcher, communicator and networker, you’ll also need the charisma to win bids and the capacity to manage contracts.

At The NYA you can look forward to an excellent package including a final salary pension scheme, flexible working, 25 days’ annual leave, childcare voucher scheme and a contribution towards childcare support during school summer holidays.
