This is the second stage of the research process

This stage is important as it helps you to find out who is saying what about your topic area. What do people think they know already about your topic area and why do they think that they know this.

Gathering all the information together will help you to think about what has been forgotten, what has not been asked and who has not been asked.

This will allow you to identify ‘gaps’ in what is known and help to you to locate your research.
