Elected members

IdeA is working in collaboration with ContinYou, The NYA, the TDA and Together for Children to design support and development opportunities for elected members to assist them with the implementation of Aiming High for Young People. The Implementation Plan intended this work should enable councillors to share expertise and become more effective at addressing issues faced by young people in their areas.

Health

The NYA is working with the DCSF and the Department of Health (DH) to identify skills and competencies in delivering good health information, advice and guidance that youth workers need, so this can be included in youth work training in future.

The NYA is also working with the DH to compile the first ever set of good practice self assessment guidelines for youth projects to enable them to offer young people more information, help and support on health issues.

This will be supported by health training materials for youth workers, particularly part-time staff, also being developed by The NYA. See: 9.9 Implementation Plan.
