West Sussex Youth Service Quality Mark celebration
West Sussex Youth Service held their own Quality Mark celebration following their achievement of the National Award in December 2007. This was created to celebrate locally and to say thank you to all those involved in the process.
On Wednesday 4th June 2008 in County Hall, Chichester Patricia Arculus, cabinet member for Adult and Children received, on behalf of the County Council Youth Service, the National Youth Agency’s Quality Mark Award. The award was presented by Jon Boagey the Agency’s Director of Communications.

Previous to receiving this award the Youth Service had been operating a Quality System to the International Quality standard ISO 9001/2000. Changing to the National Youth Agency National Award means the Service is certified to a Quality standard which is specifically focused on organisations that work with young people. The award will lead to further improvements in the Youth Service’s provision for young people across the county.
Last August the Youth Service collected the evidence to complete the Quality Mark submission and in October was visited by a NYA consultant who met a wide range of people from the Service, some of the partners and young people. In December West Sussex Youth Service were notified that they had achieved the Award.
