Have Your Say

Have Your Say are supported by North Tyneside Council they are a partner member of the Young Reseracher Network (YRN). This page provides more information about their work, and will provide information about their research in the future.

Have Your Say are a small group of young people, who are looked after and care leavers, and we are interested in giving a voice to all young people in care. We:

  • Are open minded
  • Collect views
  • Keep the good things
  • Get rid of the bad things
  • Support each other
  • Share experiences
  • Make a difference

Activities include:

Finding out the views, opinions and ideas of young people on issues that affect them by:

  • Holding consultations
  • Running events
  • Having regular meetings
  • Running a website
  • Getting in touch using e-mail or the post.

Have Your Say take your views, opinions and ideas to senior staff and members of the council and also to the Youth Council. This information is then passed onto the Council and the Mayor.

Young people who have experienced care in North Tyneside can become involved with the things we do. For example they:

  • Come to Have Your Say meetings
  • Help us develop and run the website
  • Talk to Council staff about your views
  • Come and get involved with lots of activities
  • Give us their views by calling, emailing or coming to sessions
  • Come and help plan events
  • Interview and train staff who would like to work with young people.

Get in touch with the Children’s Participation Officer for more information – you can ask someone else to get in touch if you want. You could also visit the website or e-mail: haveyoursay@northtyneside.gov.uk
