PCT and youth service work together on healthy you

Simon Beard, Development Officer with The NYA’s Youth Work for Health (YW4H) team recently met with Healthy Schools consultants and youth service staff from North and East Birmingham PCT areas. They are looking at how The NYA's draft “Youth Work for Health” Good Practice Guidelines (GPGs) can drive forward the health agenda within a range of local youth work settings. This initiative, supported by some funds from the Healthy Schools strand, aims to use the guidelines to have a both more strategic impact within local government and PCT’s as well as improving the health elements within youth work delivery at unit level.

The Guidelines will be published in the Spring and a series of regional seminars introducing the GPGs for Healthy Youth Work will take place in spring 2008. For more information see: GPG Regional Seminars >>
