Top Tips from Evolution Young Researchers

Young Researchers from the Evolution Children’s Research Club in Petworth have put together a list of Top Tips for other young researchers after their experience of doing research in their local area of Petworth.

The club was funded by West Sussex Children’s Fund and developed by ‘Action in Rural Sussex’ a charity that works in the locality. Children were identified to join Evolution by the extended schools coordinator to ensure that a broad range of young people were involved in the project.

Young people met twice a month on a Saturday and after school to explore a variety of research issues, raising their awareness of stereotyping and how to ask questions.

They decided to research some local issues asking:

  • Do we need another supermarket ?
  • Are there too many antique shops?
  • Is there enough for children and young people to do?
  • Do we need a new play park?

They will update the YRN Team their findings soon but in the meantime here’s what they had to say about research:
