Geoff's early career was spent in teaching and youth work, at Nottingham, Easingwold and Tadcaster, and then as Youth and Community Worker in Dalton, Rotherham. In 1987 he moved into Youth & Community Service management. Prior to promotion to Strategy Implementation Manager for Culture, Leisure and Lifelong Learning in 2001, he was Head of the Rotherham Youth Service for 11 years, during which time the Service had an excellent OFSTED Report and constantly performed as one of the best Youth Services in the UK. He was a member and Chair of Rotherham Crime Prevention Panel, then a member of the Drug Action Team and played a key role in bringing together the D.A.T, Youth Offending Services and Crime and Community Safety Group into the Safer Rotherham Partnership. He has a demonstrable track record of successful delivery of change management and organisational development and has spent the last five years focusing on key change developments for Rotherham MBC, including leading the work on establishing the South Yorkshire Connexions company. Prior to leaving to establish a consultancy in March 2004, he also worked on the integration of Children's and Young People's Services, established a new Equalities and Diversity Unit and led on Community Cohesion for Rotherham MBC.
He now works as a partner in Eagle-Morris Ltd specialising in a range of work including Young People’s Services, Substance Misuse, workforce reform and the integration of services for children and young people, and partnership working. His skills and experience have been recognised nationally by appointments as an Associate with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister's Strategic Pathfinder Taskforce, Associate Consultant with the National Youth Agency and as an Education and Social Policy Consultant to the Local Government Association on 'Youth Matters'. His Post Ofsted work has included change management and staff restructuring with Bolton MBC. He has worked with the DCSF on the National Drugs Strategy and Young People in several High Focus Areas including Birmingham, Rochdale, Knowsley, Herefordshire, Sandwell and Cumbria. His recent and current work includes consultancy on Education Workforce Reform with the Isle of Man Government, work for the DCSF on ‘Aiming High’, and work on the integration of young people’s services and targeted youth support for Birmingham and Cheshire. He also has a photography business, Eagle Photography, specialising in people pictures, portraits, youth events and celebrations.
