Implementing the youth-led aspects of YCF and YOF in Beacon Authorities

This research explores how the eight Local Authorities with Beacon status for positive youth engagement implemented the youth-led aspects of the Funds.

It concentrates on the process of youth engagement in the different aspects and levels of the implementation of the funds, (not on the outcomes or impact of them) with a view to sharing good practice.

The report seeks to:

• outline the key features of the 'positive engagement' work of the Beacon authorities;
• outline the processes and mechanisms the authorities have put in place to implement the Youth Opportunity and Youth Capital Funds (YOF/ YCF);
• provide evidence on how these processes have been developed and operated, including examples and case studies of practice and statements made by those involved; and
• highlight 'learning points' emerging from the research.
