The story so far …
The National Youth Agency arranged a series of consultations with young people of different faiths and no faith to check out what the issues were for young people about faith and spirituality and how The NYA and youth services could offer support and help with these.

One of the key requests from young people was for youth workers not to back off when faith was mentioned and to be able to chat things through about their faith, culture and values with youth workers who were competent and confident in being alongside them.
As a result of this The NYA published a resource book – A Sense of Respect – to give youth workers ideas and encouragement. Many of the ideas in the book were tried and tested in the Corrymeela community in Northern Ireland where Protestant and Catholic young people explored their differences and fears together.
