NYA Quality Mark self-assessment framework

About The NYA Quality Mark self-assessment framework

As The NYA Quality Mark has been developed as a means of improving organisational quality it can be used in a number of ways:

  • As a tool to drive up the quality of work against particular standards, in areas of work or sections of an organisation.
  • As a complete self-assessment process across an organisation
  • As a national award.

The NYA Quality Mark self-assessment framework is available for FREE by completing this form and e-mailing it to Lyndsay White. A copy will then be e-mailed to you. Please complete the Request Form to receive your copy.

      Hard copies of the framework and a CD-Rom are available at a cost of £15 each (including VAT) from Publications Sales. Please add £2.00 to cover post and packaging.

The NYA Quality Mark is made up of 11 standards:

  • performance management;
  • management information;
  • quality assurance;
  • equality and diversity;
  • curriculum/programme of activities;
  • legal requirements;
  • personal and social development;
  • involving young people;
  • workforce development;
  • partnerships; and
  • resources.

There are three indicators within each standard, each with level descriptors and examples of evidence designed to assist in the assessment process.

At the end of each standard there is an action planning form, which, after completion of all 11 standards, could form the basis of an overall improvement plan for an organisation. There is an expectation that an organisation would complete this on an annual basis as part of its organisational development.

Over 180 organisations have registered for The NYA’s Quality Mark self-assessment framework since it was launched in March 2006 and there are currently 12 National Award Holders.
