Article describes the 'living library' phenomenon, a social initiative being piloted in local libraries which allows people to 'borrow' a person or 'living book' to explore their experiences or interests and to understand other backgrounds and cultures.

The initiative aims to break down stereotypes and tackle prejudice by giving direct access to someone else's experience. The 'books' are volunteers who are able to share a significant personal experience or particular perspective on life. Read more>>
