£400 cash plan to encourage hard-up pupils

Gifted and talented young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are to be given more support designed to unlock their talent and aspirations.

The government has announced extra funding of £400 for each young person to spend at afterschool clubs and an increase in places at university summer schools.
