State will take action against parents who can't control their children

The Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has called for a huge expansion of state intervention in family life as a way of preventing young people drifting into antisocial behaviour and crime.

In an interview with The Times, she also said that parents who fail to look after their children properly should have to sign contracts forcing them to exercise control. Read more >>
