According to the latest police statistics the number of murders using knife or sharp instrument remains broadly static, figures backed by findings from the British Crime Survey. However, the Centre for Crime and Social Justice Studies at Kings College, London reports that 'the average age of homicide victims overall has been going down, with younger and younger victims'.
