YRN Launch Conference

The YRN Launch Conference: Encouraging Research led by Young People, 8-9 December 2007, Warwick University, Arden Training.

The YRN was formally launched at a residential conference on the 8^th and 9^th December 2007, held at Warwick University. The conference bought together fourteen out of the fifteen network partners from across England, totalling ninety-one delegates over the two days. Each of the fourteen partner projects were represented by at least two workers and three or four young researchers. They all shared in two days of fun, learning, and guidance in doing real world research.

Alongside the workshops delegates also had the opportunity to share in expert advice from the two keynote talks.

Viv McKee (Director of Policy and Development at The NYA) opened the conference by highlighting the opportunities available within the current social policy context for young researchers.
Dr Mary Kellet concluded the conference with a discussion about research and ethics.
