Specialist Consultants Application process

The National Youth Agency is often approached by bodies needing help in certain areas of work. We maintain a list of consultants who are able to help. We pass on contact details of selected consultants to interested organisations for them to interview, select and commission themselves. It is not an accredited nor an authorised list but organisations can quickly access consultants who may match their requirements. The NYA has advertised nationally for people to join this list to ensure fairness of representation.

If you would like to join this list please download, complete and return the attached documents. The Agency will consider all applications made to join the list and internally assess them. There will be no interview as part of the selection process, which will be carried out on the basis of the evidence presented in the application. Successful applicants will be expected to provide proof of professional indemnity insurance before they can formally join the list.

The Agency will retain contact with organisations using consultants from the Specialised Consultants list and carry out Quality Assurance checks on the work carried out. The position of the consultants on the list will be reviewed annually with regard to the results of the Quality Assurance and the desire of the consultant to remain on the list.

The Agency will expect to receive a small percentage of the consultant's income from work gained as a result of their place on the list in order to cover the costs of setting up and administering the system.
