About Youth Access
Youth Access is the national membership organisation for young people's information, advice, counselling and support services.
We believe all young people have a right to locally accessible, free and impartial information, advice, counselling and support. We work in partnership with our members, the National Youth Agency and other organisations to promote the development of high quality, young people-friendly services.
Young People's Information, Advice, Counselling and Support Services (YIACS)
YIACS provide a combination of services under one roof to young people, including counselling, advice, information, outreach, and personal support (drop-in, befriending, informal support and sexual health). Youth Access members are diverse in terms of set-up and the services they provide, but share a holistic, multi-skilled and flexible approach to young people’s needs and a commitment to providing free, confidential and high quality services. Young people can get help with legal rights based problems such as housing and benefits alongside help for emotional and mental health difficulties. Directory of Services
If you are a young person, carer, or professional looking for a service in your local area do have a look at the Youth Access Directory of Services available online. It lists over 400 agencies that provide information, advice, counselling and support to young people (YIACS) across the UK.
If you are from a counselling or advice service which you don’t think is listed in our directory, please get in touch to help young people locate you. E-mail: admin@youthaccess.org.uk

Members also receive monthly mailings, briefings and publications, and are invited to national networking events such as our twice yearly Coordinators events, and to take part in Youth Access projects around counselling and rights based advice.
If you are involved in young people’s counselling or advice, why not think about joining us, either as an organisational member, or if you would like to keep in touch with sector developments, as a subscriber.
