    Criteria for judging applications

Applications for the YRN Grant Programme will be assessed by a sub-group of the YRN steering group, and include both adults and young people.

The following criteria, or judgements, will be used to assess each application and you should bear these in mind when filling out the grant application form:

    • Is the research project relevant to the lives of young people?
    • Are the research questions clear?
    • Will the methodology answer the research questions?
    • Is the research project achievable in the time allowed?
    • Does the project represent value for money?
    • Is the research project young people-led?
    • Do young researchers have good support from the adults in their organisation?
    • Have all ethical issues been carefully considered and addressed?
    • Will the research be available to other people?
    • Is the research project likely to have a positive impact (direct or indirect) on the lives of young people?
    • How does the research project meet the objectives of the Young Researcher Network?
