Hear by Right: Getting Started
This book is an easy access guide to Hear by Right, the national participation standards. It will help you to understand the 'what, why and how' of young people's participation and how to use Hear by Right to improve the quality of your services and - if you wish - gain a unique national award.
The seven Hear by Right standards - Shared Values, Strategies, Structures, Systems, Staff, Skills and Style of leadership - are broken down into indicators. This book gives you the 'Top Twenty' - the most fundamental indicators dealing with young people's participation at the heart of your organisation.
Using it as a self-assessment tool, organisations can also go for the recognition of a national award at three levels - bronze, silver and gold.
