Integrated Services for Young People

Awards Network

The suite of non-formal interventions and awards for 14 to 19-year-olds is a key offer to enable disengaged young people to build confidence and re-engage with learning on their terms. The National Youth Agency acts as an ‘honest broker’ to a number of accreditation bodies involved in our Awards Network.

These non formal learning accreditation bodies include AQA, ASDAN, Chrysalis, Clubs for Young People, Connect Youth, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Fairbridge, Girlguiding UK, Mencap, NOCN, The Prince’s Trust, The Scout Association, Sports Leaders UK, Skill Force, UK Youth, WJEC, Youthtrain and Arts Awards.

An updated brochure to be published in Spring 2010 will outline the awards on offer, and demonstrate their linkage to Foundation Learning and support workers and young people to locate the most suitable learning outcomes and progression routes.

Benefits

  • Summarises all accredited non formal interventions and awards from the major accreditation bodies.
  • Assists young people’s workers and peer educators with a suite of alternative learning routes for 14-19s.
  • Adds to other information about the local non formal offer.
